# Content Creation Resources (Tech Creator)

Curated for a beginner building a tech/coding presence on YouTube, Instagram & LinkedIn. Verified current as of 2026-07. Trust bias: official platform docs + creators who teach the craft, not sell hype.

## Knowledge

### Official platform sources
- [YouTube for Creators — Resources Hub](https://www.youtube.com/creators/resources/)
Free official guides: Shorts vs longform, how recommendations work, titles/thumbnails/descriptions. Use for: any "how does YouTube actually work" question — ground truth, not guru opinion.
- [Instagram Creators — Best Practices](https://creators.instagram.com/best-practices)
Instagram's own hub: Reels, cadence, reach, monetization. Use for: planning Reels/Stories, or when a third-party "hack" contradicts the platform.
- [LinkedIn — Key Guidelines for Content Creators](https://www.linkedin.com/top-content/networking/linkedin-professional-guidelines/key-guidelines-for-linkedin-content-creators/)
Official principles: native formats beat text+link, comments drive reach, external links get throttled. Use for: before first LinkedIn posts, to avoid reach-killing mistakes.

### The craft (hooks, retention, storytelling)
- [Ali Abdaal](https://aliabdaal.com/) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/c/aliabdaal)
Gold standard for teaching YouTube *systems* (scripting, retention, consistency) to knowledge/tech creators. **Best fit for Nitesh** — style maps directly onto tech/education content.
- [Colin & Samir](https://www.colinandsamir.com/) · [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/ColinandSamir)
The most respected "about creators, for creators" show. Use for: weekly pulse on what's working across platforms + the business of being a creator.
- [Justin Welsh — The Saturday Essay](https://justinwelsh.me/) · [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/justinwelsh/)
Built ~600k LinkedIn followers solo; repeatable system for short-form posts + personal brand. Use for: the LinkedIn / tech-solopreneur track specifically.
- [MrBeast's production memo — annotated](https://www.shaanpuri.com/essays/mrbeast-leaked-memo)
Distilled: obsess over CTR, average view duration, first 60 seconds. Use for: the mental model of hooks + retention behind all video (skip the hustle-culture parts).

### Overcoming camera shyness
- [Loom/Atlassian — How to Overcome Camera Shyness](https://www.atlassian.com/blog/loom/tips-for-getting-better-on-camera)
Practical & calm: eye contact via lens, pacing, managing anxiety, low-stakes starts. Use for: **read first**, do the exercises before your first real video. (Directly serves the on-camera-confidence track.)
- [Forbes — 5 Tips To Be Instantly More Confident On Camera (2025)](https://www.forbes.com/sites/jodiecook/2025/03/03/5-tips-to-be-instantly-more-confident-on-camera/)
Short checklist: manage energy, one idea per take, keep it simple. Use for: re-read right before you hit record.

## Wisdom (Communities)
- [r/NewTubers](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewTubers/)
695k members; premier small-creator community for critiques & feedback. Use for: post early videos for honest peer critique — fastest improvement when you have no audience.
- [r/webdev](https://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/) · [r/programming](https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/)
Where your *tech audience* actually hangs out. Use for: validate topic ideas, spot recurring beginner questions to turn into content.
- [Awesome Discord Communities (curated list)](https://github.com/mhxion/awesome-discord-communities)
Vetted index of language/framework Discords. Use for: find the real-time community around whatever tech you create about.

## Gaps & notes
- No single authoritative *book* on camera shyness for creators — the two links above are the strongest; supplement with practice, not more reading.
- No canonical Discord purely for *tech content creators*. Practical move: combine a creator community (r/NewTubers) with a tech community (from the awesome list).
- LinkedIn's official material is thinner than YouTube's/Instagram's — Justin Welsh fills the craft/tactics gap.
- Paid courses intentionally excluded — free content is enough to start. Revisit after publishing consistently for months.
- Community preference: **not yet asked** whether Nitesh wants to join communities. Confirm before pushing him to post in r/NewTubers.

**Suggested path:** YouTube Resources Hub + Ali Abdaal (craft) → Loom camera-shyness guide (get comfortable) → post first videos to r/NewTubers → layer in IG/LinkedIn best-practices once a rhythm exists.
